Walk For Wellness

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience symptoms of mental illness each year?

In fact , every day in Australia 9 people die of suicide.

Mental illness can be debilitating which can have a devastating impact on those living with it and those living around them.

This October I am taking part in One Foot Forward to help reduce the impact on mental illness and suicide.

I’m walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute, so that they can put ground-breaking new health treatment, education and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to help support this event throughout October.

My goal is to raise $450 in October and Walk 40km plus.

ABIT ABOUT ME:

My name is Sarah and as a 38 year old woman diagnosed with ADHD which has created alot of chaos and confusion in my world. It had led me towards depression, anxiety, addictions and PTSD where I found it very difficult to socialise and seek the help of motivation in day-to-day life as I felt too shy to ask for help and had a belief of “burdening others if I reached out”.

I found it debilitating to connect with the right community, engage in healthier relationships and understand what it meant to live my life with unique expression and authenticity.

I would constantly apply a mask and want to follow the herd to try and keep up , which would often lead to burn out and depressive thoughts.

I stopped believing in myself and would live in fear of the “unknown” blaming all of my experiences on others, until I realised that what I am seeking externally is more of an inside problem.

Instead of constantly looking outside of myself for validation and acceptance, I chose to dedicate myself towards spiritual healing, personal development, improving my mindset and working on my physical health.

I tried many modalities such as breath work and other tools to help bring clarity back into my life and understand what it truly means to have genuine connections.

In today’s fast paced society , the pressure placed amongst survival and basic needs has lead a lot of families and people under stress and disconnection from their nature and with others. But through this process of deep transformation, I have also learnt that suffering is power.

Life is full of ups and downs and its learning to ride the emotional wave of what life throws at us.

It teaches us compassion and deeper love for others to be able to understand what another human is going through without becoming affected by it.

To show compassion and understanding for another human being takes another to be present and to know themselves at a deeper level.

Together we can create change and improve the impact mental health has on many lives out in the world today.

~ 45 minute Walk along Margate to help raise funds for Mental Health and Suicide Awareness

~ Connection on the Beach

~ 60 minute Breath Work Session to help release emotions and elevate your state of being bringing more balance and harmony into your life.

Conscious Breathing such as Holotropic Breath work helps us to navigate through our core emotions that may be playing certain roles within our life which can hold us back from our true potential. It has the intelligence to bring emotions and feelings to the surface that we may have not been aware of and can unlock insights and conscious messages into our state of being whilst clearing the mind of thoughts and aligning with our hearts.
